The other day, John Saddington – one of our mentors at The Iron Yard – provided his official assessment of the RidePost team. John and his brother co-founded Action & Influence, a consultancy that breaks down a team’s relational dynamics and energy, and which then instructs the team how to achieve high-performance levels. Before we joined The Iron Yard, we took John’s Action & Influence Survey online.
In our meeting with John, we walked through our team’s individual and collective strengths and weaknesses. Specifically, we focused on Individual Management (how our personal traits influence our behavior, and how to self-manage these behaviors) and Team Management (how to work most effectively with one another, given our Individual assessments). We really enjoyed the assessment. We were able to take a step back and apply a new lens to our team’s performance, and to better understand where each person is coming from. It’s valuable for us to have had this experience, and we look forward to working with John some more in the coming months!
