Share Like A Bonobo

Nik forwarded our team a kind-of-out-there-article this morning about bonobos. We’d never actually heard of a bonobo until today. But it turns out, it’s a real animal! And it’s an animal that would prefer to share it’s food with a stranger rather than another already-known bonobo, in efforts to expand it’s existing social networks.

What’s more, the bonobo is one of the closest relatives to humans. Like humans, bonobos give us a concrete example of how sharing can boost one’s esteem in the form of new friends. Sharing opens us up to new relationships; grows our social circle; and challenges our “norm.”

So, friends, we invite you to get out there and (ride)share like a bonobo this 2013. It might be an odd example, but by nature – sharing is just a part of being human.
